Well, Wellsy comes back with this project and it's decent. I'm typically a big fan of her but here she feels a bit underdeveloped at times. I really like 'dream machine' & 'weak loop' because they take on these really nice instrumental and electronic sounds that are pretty chill but the rest of the EP is pretty boring. The 8485 feature on 'ceres' is not anywhere near my favorite of her work and the entire midsection of this EP ends up sounding really uninspired and like a different version ... read more
This EP reminds me of "Crystal Shards". It has the same kind of calm but cold feel to that album, and I happen to like that sound. This is nowhere near blackwinterwells' strongest material, but she does get the basics right, as always. Her melodies are harmonic, her hooks are catchy and the writing is nice.
