Rewriting my little blurb as I didn't really say much. I do think this is a fantastic album and influential more to the modern scene of Technical/Progressive Death Metal. Definitely still one of my favorites.

Very short in run time so no moment is spared. Prison Born is a great groovy quick burst. Really fun track. Ancient Covenant is more drawn out, more guitar work to it but still rooted in speed. I do like the spacey riffs, gets a nice groove in the second half.

XenoChrist is my ... read more

A technical DM masterpiece. Thematically it's amazing. Vocally brutal. Instrumentally actually ventures into a "too perfect" area where it becomes an alien life form that moves with freakish precision.

Technical Death Metal with an emphasis on the progressive part of things à la "Cynic" ! "Planetary Duality" will always remain one of the most unique releases on the modern tech death scene. It's chock-full of neo-classical sections, melodies, shifting time signatures reminiscent of "Necrophagist" (another big influence for this act), the lead work is especially impressive on tracks like "The Ancient Covenant" and "XenoChrist", ... read more

A groundbreaking album. I love the genre-blending/resonant experimentation that happens often in the tracklist and the constant alien-like mood. Technical Death Metal at it's best, tight & creative.

The Planetary Duality duo at the ending is just chef's kiss, great way to end.

Was in the mood for some unrelenting tech death, so here I am listening to a classic that I have yet to experience. I was surprised by how short this record came and went. Despite its layered songs and all over the place writing, the entire album was over in a flash. Very robotic like guitar riffs are littered all over this album, which is very reminiscent of The Zenith Passage, or the other way around, considering this band came first. With there being a ton of riffs and technicality, there is ... read more
