Original Jan review: (76) Actually pretty decent and worth of revisiting. Will probably get lost in the other 3 (!) albums he released concurrently. May get to those but like this heartland/dad rock album. Best tracks; Darkness, Be Wrong, Starsign
Oct relisten review: This album (well a couple of tacks anyway) have been on high rotation but I'm not convinced it's got the staying power to go the distance after hundreds of other albums get listened to in 2024.
Some truly dreadful singing on this record - most notably (and unfortunately) the album's two longest songs. Elsewhere, the writing is uninspired with occasional glimpses of focus and quality. I'd been holding out some hope for this one as 'the best of the bunch', but Adams proves conclusively with these four Jan. 1 LPs that it really ought be quality before quantity.
