DAOKO's self titled 2015 release really showcased what she could do with some glossier production. It's synthy, eerie and layered. It houses some of her most essential tracks such as 'Suisei', 'Kakete Ageru' and 'Kimi', but I don't think her pop songwriting was fully polished at this point so at times it can feel a bit melodically juvenile and not very hooking. It really surprised me the way this album went, I was expecting the same chilly vibe but I got instruments, some fierce beats and a similar talk/rap I heard in Haru Nemuri's debut album (even tho this was released first). I liked the experience.
