Now for their 11th album, 2010’s Player. Can you believe it, Capsule went over a year between album releases. Shocking. Who would’ve thought. Unfortunately, they aren’t any better for it, because this album is awful. This is a weird one, there’s two really good songs here, and everything else sucks. I came across the track "I wish You" in my Discover Weekly, and had to check this out! Yeah, this album is fantastic. It starts with the incredible (although straightforward) electronic J-pop track "Stay with You" which has immaculate production--not unlike the rest of the album. "I wish You" is a glitchy Vocaloid-esque bop that sounds like it's sampled Pogo-style. "The Music" is a more house-centered track whose drop sounds like it came out in 2021 ... read more
