I like artists that sound like where they’re from and not like a AI slopfest decided what a rapper should sound like. Virgil is as “Texas Technician” as they come and he’s going to played at high volume in my residential neighborhood. Sorry to both my neighbors and his haters.

Texas Technician is solid, but not astounding. It’s not by any means a misstep, but neither is it the seminal artistic statement that he genuinely seems capable of.

I like OT's career arch so far - started as just a likeable fun Texan MC, but now he's got a notable improvement on this record compared to his last in regards to songwriting, production choices, etc. Fingers crossed he keeps it up.
A pretty fun album, I'd recommend checking it out if you haven't heard it. OT kinda reminds me of DaBaby but if he was a lot more influenced by early 1990s-2000s smooth southern rappers with his sound. It's not the most lyrically captivating album (although there are a couple slightly deeper moments like Mucho Gracias), but man are a lot of the songs so fun with entertaining lines from OT and his constantly slick, adaptable flow. For ot's Sophomore i kinda wish he used different types of beats except them all sounding eerily similar other than a few that have more string based one. His rapping is ok, this wasn't as funny and Ot took a more serious approach on song compared to the Mexican wrestling typa debut. Such a vibey album for the most part other than a few features Texas Technician wasn't half bad as a release.
