Ekbom is a visceral assault on the senses, but one that is tempered with the kind of subtle yet effective precision that only comes with 20-plus years of practice and experience. It’s blisteringly fast, but somehow not exhausting to listen to. In fact, it’s downright entertaining.
Ekbom may fall marginally short of the high standards of their past few albums, though it hardly rates as a disappointment due to the band’s lovable x-factor and consistently brutal, engaging songwriting.
A far cry from Necrobreed, Ekbom is a progression of the breakneck speed into familiar territories. Is it technically good... Yes... Is it interesting... Sadly no.
Morgue is pretty good with some nice groove and also some good ominous catchy riffs. Nothing Left To Fear is decent and definitely grooves hard and Oliver's feature definitely fits.
A Reason For Treason would be great live, a lot of the tracks on here probably would. There's definitely no lack of energy and the vocal performance is very solid.
Overall a find this another solid offering, I still think they sound a lot like Aborted though.
