Really underrated album that's very well produced with developed and mature songwriting. Other 311 albums are great for their fun, vibes, and experimentation. However Evolver really feels like they're trying to say something. It's a departure from their previous sound and thus rubs some the wrong way, but I'm happy they took the risks they did.
This album struggles from the opposite of what From Chaos struggled with. If From Chaos was too much noise while cramming some of the best songs in the tail end of the album. Evolver struggles from just being not bold enough and too slow while having a super strong start with tracks like Creatures (For a While), Crack the Code, and Same Mistake Twice but falls off fast.
