Algorithm is the sound of Daye and D'Mile continuing to make progressive R&B that builds from classic soul and funk, and the two are still game to add pop and rock elements and experiment a little.

An ambitious 14-tracker, the care and attention put into ‘Algorithm’ means that the project actually hangs together remarkably well.

Pitchfork
The prodigious singer reunites with producer D’Mile for a collection of live-band soul and future-R&B that aspires to update the classic seduction jam with a dose of modern vulnerability.

Lucky Daye disrupts the "algorithm" by delivering a profound new album. The New Orleans native pushes the boundaries of sound with the excellent producer D'Mile. Regarding "Algorithm," he states: "Whenever I create with D'Mile and J. Kercy, we create magic, so I hope fans will love this record as much as I do." Pretty good R&B album!! I like the genre blends in this album that make it very unique. I feel like it gets better in the ending and not a lot of the first tracks really stand out to me. Also, I feel like it didn’t need that much monologues but it doesn’t ruin the album. I really like lucky dayes voice though and in a way it sometimes sounds a little like frank ocean. I suggest this album if you like genre-ish blends and that kind of frank ocean-ish pop.

I really like this album! I feel like it's a bit experimental and it works very well. Love the use of guitar or that kinda band-ish sound if you know what i mean. Vocals are awesome and they really pull you inn to the songs when listening. The track run from HERicane to algorithm is awesomeeeee!
I do think the voicemail recordings are a bit too long in my opinion and it does get annoying at times.
My favorite songs: no. 1 Pin, no. 2 Algorithm and no. 3 That's you
