As the name implies, Esoteric is not accessible to all fans of metal, but there is a small minority that will lovingly embrace the band's arcane message and apocalyptic sound.

Someone recommended me this band. Never heard of them before. I don't hear this style of doom metal often, so it's very refreshing and oddly calming even with the dissonance. I feel that this is super underrated and unique in terms of sonority. Their sound engineering on the noises brings an extra touch of charm. It feels dreamy in some moments. Metamorphogenesis LP is a claustrophobic experience, with tons of layering of instruments and vocals in all the 3 tracks (the shortest being 11 minutes long), to the point that you can barely understand what the hell is going on.

This feature may also be its undoing in some songs though. This is especially true in the final track, "Psychotropic Transgression", on which the bulk of the song is spent in a rather disorienting wall of guitar noises and impressive screaming, but to me, it ... read more
