Serving yet another multilingual, all-inclusive set of party-starting tunes, Sofi Tukker host an eclectic, global bash on their third full-length, Bread.

Spectrum Culture

There is serious writing, performing and production here ... but behind this deceptively subtle album are two people with their own G-Star RAW clothing collab, an easy, sanguine, unironic likeability in their public personae and a very obviously sincere and intimate connection as creative partners.

Beats Per Minute

The album’s short 35 minute runtime should serve it favours, but often feels like missed opportunities to not let good grooves stretch out and instead let goofy ideas take the driving wheel.

The Skinny

Despite pulling together a strange swirl of sounds, SOFI TUKKER have created a sun-soaked party landscape on BREAD.

The title track is decent, I feel like its kind of just their standard sound though. Nice pacing and vibe. Throw Some Ass is a little more fun instrumentally, pretty catchy too even if you find it silly.

Hey Homie is pretty smooth in production, nothing crazy but vibes nicely. Woof is pretty fun and bass driven. Goddess in Disguise is also nice, upbeat and pretty catchy it's just that these sound like songs they would have released already. Not doing anything super new.

Dismissing songs as just being cringe generally isn't something you should do, but 'Throw Some Ass' is kinda just cringe. And the rest of the album isn't much better.

Not terrible, but there's just nothing about this album that makes me want to return to it.

hear me out... they did their thing with making the best song on the album be the title track.
and also as a just dance fan, that knows his history with woof, the album version is not that bad. like COME ON, i expected better ofc, but like... i can take all i have recived.

the rest of the album is essentially great, but it should've ended with cafune' , and for jacare' and perfect someone to be like bonus tracks or something
