Even though the highs are higher on Blue, the consistency and overall soundscape of this album is better, so I slightly prefer this over Blue.
streets said this album is better than shōso strip, but i can confirm that it isn’t. still a phenomenal album tho.
The greatest love letter to hip-hop and one of the best MCs to touch a mic.
9.1/10
This album is great and I have no complaints whatsoever, it has incredible instrument playing throughout its 45 minute run time, but I genuinely don’t know how to really feel about this album because this is the first full-fledged jazz album i’ve ever listened to. The music is just so soothing and calming, like I can throw it on while I walk or do work but i’m not extremely crazy about it like everyone else… yet. Simz is by far the best female rapper in the modern day. This album has heavenly production, like I deadass believe this is one the the best produced Hip-Hop albums of all time. Simz’s rapping is honestly amazing like her flows are lowk smooth like shea butter throughout this album. And Cleo Soul puts her Soul (no pun intended) into the vocals on the album. Not as great as I thought it would be but “Someday We’ll All Be Free” is genuinely one of the greatest songs ever released.
I listened to this album 3 months ago but I have to say this. The fact that Mary Jane is the lowest rated song on this album on this website here while it being the best song on the damn album is absolutely fucking criminal. Mary Jane deserves better!
Underrated tbh, I think this album would’ve been lower if I didn’t listen to the deluxe version
After listening to every song on this album, I told myself that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Hirasawa’s strong vocals mixed with the colossal orchestra-like production makes a once in a lifetime listening experience.

A step up from the last two records. Brought back some of the angst nature that was in the first two albums, but doesn’t sound the same. Definitely blended the sounds of their old sound that was on their debut album “Saturate” with their new sound that’s on “Dark Before Dawn” and it doesn’t sound the best in my opinion. I honestly just grew out of Breaking Benjamin. They’re not horrible but definitely not as good as I thought they were back in ... read more
