Tech N9ne - N9NA

Became a fan of Tech N9ne quite late, once I heard the song with Serj Tankian feature "Straight Out The Gate" so it's been already 5 years or so. Tech N9ne even after all the years he put into rap/hip hop culture still manages to surprise the scene with something extraordinary. Well, "N9NA" does not really have anything to do with it - it does not produce anything new/unheard/unseen. That does not mean the album is bad, no, it has everything that you can expect from Tech ... read more

Been waiting for this release to drop for about 3-4 years - after I helplessly fell in love with TR/ST. Everything about the band is pure love. Listened already to the released singles and I couldn't feel more hyped than I am right now, so let's dig in.

"Colossal" - first song of the album and one of the singles that were released before, it grabs you straight by the throat and makes you gulp out of excitement. You know you are in for a ride when the album starts with such strong ... read more

I don't think there is much left to say as mostly everything is said already - Simz's flow is top tier on this album. Lyrics are straight and she is able to show her sharp teeth in hip hop genre once again. Without any hesitation I can say that this is best hip hop album this year SO FAR. From smooth and silky "Selfish", "Pressure" to straight up bangers like "Venom" or "Offence" - this album has it all!

The only thing that is not talked enough is the ... read more

Gus Dapperton - Where Polly People Go To Read

Long awaited by me, a full album of Gus is here! I'm really excited to see what this new voice of pop can offer.

I cannot stress enough how fresh sounding Gus' voice and music is - a solid mix of 90s pop sound and grungy voice with few elements of modern pop mixed in as well. Don't even get me started about his looks and dance moves, but we are not talking about it here, the most important thing is the album we have in front of our ears.

Anyone that listened to Gus before knows well they will ... read more

Aries - WELCOME HOME

Won't lie, I've heard Aries for the first time 2 days before this album came out and I still haven't stopped listening to him (my last.fm could testify for that)

I am a huge fan of this kind of pop-trap sound and you can see that Aries made an excellent job on this album.
Gotta say that I love the order of the track list. Songs are flowing from one to another flawlessly.
Mixing on the album is done really well. Lyrics are okay, have to give props to Carousel and Deity, following being the ... read more
