Been listening to this a lot, and playing it on my Les Paul a lot too. But damn, this album is just hella fun. It is so immersive especially when you're just walking around town. My favorite one out of all of these is "NIGHTS" absolutely pure eargasm on that one. I can imagine myself on a balcony with a setting auburn sun while looking down on the colorful coastal city lights below.
(skip this if u dont wanna read it) I'm starting this by saying I'm going to college. This album, OK Computer and A Moon Shaped Pool made me question things about life and myself, changed even. My ways of coping through my ending teenage years and was even throughout my childhood were through music. College no longer feels like a distant land and more of a mere dreaded promiseland. A portal to adulthood with debt or a broken promise to homelessness.
Now, the album. Discovered this ... read more
The direct inspiration for "Bulletproof... I Wish I Was" and "How to Disappear Completely".
This is the type of album you listen to on a depressive morning, and then blast the 2nd half of L'AMOUR DE MA VIE or LUNCH—one of those albums that'll grow on you. I'm not a big fan of Billie but the damn production quality is top-tier on this one. FINNEAS did a great job. Now, this makes me want to delve deep into her discography.
A personal album with self-loathing and insecurities. Masqueraded by club, electronic, dance music. This album will slowly grow on you. "So I" was such a nice and beautiful tribute to SOPHIE who largely influenced her musical artistry. However, some of them felt were just made for the sake of the music and had forgetful lyrics. This is club music though. (Club classics is unbearable)
One of the greatest and most influential artists didn't see the fruit of its tree. A man with just his guitar and a poetic, creative mind tragically embraced the silence of death at a young age. The songs in his debut album reflect his struggles growing up such as isolation, unrequited love, and concerns with existentialism. All written through his unfiltered thoughts and spoken through the art of music.
It's a much more emotional album than its predecessor. And much more personal than PH. It's not just Yhom Thorke himself but the to whole band. It was a drastic improvement and avoided the cliches that "Pablo Honey" had. The only artist that can diss Radiohead is Radiohead. In an expressionistic, and artistic way.
Filipinos are going wild on this πππππππ JUST KIDDING ALL THEY KNOW IS "PANO" πππππ
This man is impervious to improvement. He does the same shit throughout the album (or his current discography) like Filipino TV shows. There is so much potential, yet it is thrown out of the window. Repetitive-ass album. It's absolutely surprising, mind-boggling, shocking, and stomach-turning that this is one of the most listened-to artists in The Philippines. Brush off his hits and realize how astonishingly garbage his songs are. But production quality is good, and that's all the ... read more
I thought that I'd be walking out with dirt in my ears, but ended up discovering something near perfect. I just could not give this a 10/10 because there are some parts that are a bit lacking. But the good moments shone over the dark parts of the album. It's a mixed bag of nuts with some chocolate in it. Not a full bag of chocolates.
Arctic Monkeys are continuing down a path of more piano-influenced and lounge-style instrumentals with "The Car". However, this album is vastly different from "Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino". It incorporates strings and orchestral elements with the absence of a guitar (for the most part). It shines beautifully in tracks such as "There'd Better Be A Mirrorball", "Hello You", and "Big Ideas". Additionally, it features a tune with funk ... read more
"A Moon Shaped Pool" feels like a resounding conclusion to Radiohead. Tracks went beyond before the LP was released and "True Love Waits" is almost 30 years old (1995) by the time I'm typing this. It's like they're emptying the dusty cupboards of its remaining songs. It perfectly captures the feelings of heartbreak, frustration, and defeat while having a side topic about climate change. The lyricism matches the dismal atmosphere that the instrumentation has — some ... read more
This album is impervious to time like gold. Radiohead became one of the most important bands at the turn of the century.
Wow... The 2nd disc should've been the main LP.
Lyrically is not bad, then again, what makes this different from her other albums' lyrics? Instrumentally, it was torturously dull. Which works with the mid lyrics. In "Florida!!!" Florence + The Machine carried that song. The album has no replayability. Lyricism: 33. Instrumentation: 12.
One of the essentials for first-time listening to Radiohead. It's absolutely fantastic.
