The production is twisted and varied and insane. We really see Danny starting to come into his own on this record as he details his usual topics: substance abuse, sex, and violence. Well done.
Best tracks: Die Like a Rockstar, Nosebleeds, XXX
Worst track: EWNESW
While somewhat inconsistent, Danny Brown's debut is a dark, brooding, hardcore effort that gives glimpses of the insanity that was yet to come. Lyrics get better and better as the album progresses and this is the most "normal" his voice will ever sound. Check it out.
Best tracks: Nowhere 2 Go, Drinks on Me, Generation Rx
Worst track: Need Another Drink
A slow first half that suddenly climaxes at the midpoint with its three smash singles before finally finding a groove. It's a decent project and definitely good starting point for D.R.A.M. as this is his full-length debut. What it truly lacks is memorability.
