Track for track, because I don't quite get how this gets a perfect score
1. Dirty Computer
"All I'll ever be is your dirty computer" - cringe
2. Crazy, Classic Life
Pastor sample over 808's, ugh why does that seem familiar.
"I don't need a lot of cash, I just want to break the rules" "I am not americas nightmare, I'm the american dream/cool" - cringe
Nice bassline though, otherwise the instrumentation is running wild
Great delivery on the chorus, although the words seem entirely empty to me.
3.Take a byte
Oh so this is a concept album? of course it is.
"just take a byte, you look so good, just help yourself, I won't tell" - cringe
"Random Access Memory" (this reference is important because the next track is borrowed AF)
5. Screwed
Lyrically it sounds better, so there's that
"Sex, Body we are going to crash your party" - cringe (also that first breakdown is tone-deaf)
"Screwed" - sounds borrowed from " Give yourself to Dance"
Okay the thing I said about the lyrics, I take it back
"You screw me, and I'll screw you too" - CRINGE
I'm starting to think this is a commercial pop release? So perhaps I'm being too hard on the album?
6. Django Jane
Oh we rapping now?
Well its quite well delivered, perhaps she should just rap
Oh this is good, nice.
7.Pynk
This is the single, that made me listen to this album.
8. Make Me Feel
Clearly a tribute to the sound of Prince.
Its really wonderful, probably my favorite cut from this album.
9.I got the juice
Sigh.
10.I like that
This is wonderful too,
So why not make an album in this tone, and not whatever the first 5 tracks of this album were
11. Don't Judge Me
That ethereal pitch of her voice, that has been missing throughout this album pops up here.
Another wonderful track, entirely separate from the tone of the first half of this album.
BUT! That Radiohead sample, why? your entire album doesn't stand up to that soundbite.
13. So Afraid
The instrumentation found on this album is all over the place, and this is the glaring track that just doesn't fit.
14. Americans
... ugh
