i love how atmospheric this album is with all the ambience. classic old school death metal with zombie vocals. what more could you want? the riffs stay interesting with different speeds and rhythm variations. maybe a little bit of groove involved at times? either way, very solid album. amazing guitar tone, and i loved the growls. wish i could hear more of the bass though.
honestly, this album surprised me. i wasn’t expecting so many different elements. the complex and technical riffs were great. also a little groovy with gallops and overall pacing of the riffs. both vocalists sound amazing, and the clean vocals were really nice. overall a really tight album and an enjoyable experience start to finish. perfect mix of heaviness, technicality, and groove. the last song was definitely a surprise too. it’s kinda hard to fit this album into just one genre, ... read more
very interesting concept going on with the whole organ and drug immersive track thing. world coming down is a wonderful TON album that doesn’t get as much love as it should. honestly it’s my 2nd favorite album out of their discography. the themes about death and drug use are executed perfectly with the droning bass and guitar that compliment each other so well. this album is one of TONs best lyrically as well.
classic and essential album from this band. hauntingly beautiful and atmospheric. peter’s bass playing and josh’s keyboards layer amazingly with pete’s vocals; high and low. lyrics and songs center around love, obsession, fire, and heartache. so upbeat with psychedelic riffs yet so dark with slow and heavy bass. clearly TON’s most favorited album for a reason.
