In 1976, Zombie was released by Fela Kuti. The album was meant as protest against the oppressive dictatorship that ruled Nigeria in that time, referring to the government's cronies as "zombies" - men who acted solely to follow orders like a zombie in a drunken haze. The WIZRD is one of Future's better records. Mainly because it is extremely consistent in the first half. That first half has some of his best flows, over some incredibly fun trap instrumentals. The slower tracks where he's rapping at a pace unusual to how he normally raps is so cool to witness. He has enough interesting ideas to offer over some strong instrumentals to make it such a fun experience. Buried within its self-seriousness is JPEGMAFIA's Experimental Rap, an album that seems to fluctuate from great to terrible within seconds. A record that feels so on the nose and ultimately empty. So empty and meaningless it almost feels frustrating. Peggy on this record sounds like a rapper he would clown on in his Veteran days. Fakemink described this record as a dante's inferno esque odyssey into his soul, calling it his dystopian reflection of LA from his perspective as a foreigner. Inspired by his rise to fame, as well as his mental health struggles, Terrified is a massive concept record, moving from hell to heaven as the album transition from bassy rage and jerk instrumentals into something much more beautiful and transcendental.
