Oxnard

First thing's first, congratulations to Mr Paak for getting the Grammy! I know they mean literally nothing but hey it's still a pretty cool achievement for an incredible artist. Lockdown is my second favourite song of 2020 so it's amazing to see it getting the well deserved recognition that it needs.

Oxnard is glossy and stunning, and has just radiates infectious joy whenever you listen. However, Anderson definitely takes some liberties when it comes to some of the tracks and their production. Sometimes the album can be a bit too grand or expansive for its own good, or it falls flat on its face because it does the complete opposite and incorporates songs which just feel like nothingness. But hey, at the end of the day Oxnard is still great and the good outweighs the bad immensely.

Tints is perfection. It's so god damn joyful and gleeful, and whenever it comes on I feel as if it's a crime against humanity to not turn the volume up. And the Kendrick feature is great on it. Actually, most of the jam packed features are pretty solid additions to this LP. Q-Tip, Pusha T and BJ The Chicago Kid are definitely the standouts, but it's still nice to see so many big names on a project such as Dre and J. Cole. Anderson really does want to inject the biggest punch into his albums and his huge and impactful feature list definitely helps towards his motives.

I'd say Oxnard is Anderson's second best album, and just like the others it doesn't really sound like any of Anderson's other projects. The skill and musicality it takes to make such different and intriguing albums is extremely admirable. Damn it, I love you Andy. I cannot wait for Silk Sonic.
