Dedicated is a fitting sequel to Carly's infamous release of Emotion, and it showcases some more of that incredible synth pop that she helped to innovate in mainstream pop. This albums biggest strength is its addictive nature, with every song feeling perfectly encapsulated in a certain pop magic, and even though the topic never changes (which is, to no surprise, strictly about love), each song still feels fresh and bubbly.

My favourite tracks are definitely those that have Carly adding a little more pizazz, like with the bounciness on Julien or with the belter chorus on Happy Not Knowing. In fact, choruses are definitely Carly's biggest strength on this album. Her ability to write a hook that anyone can immediately sing is truly incredible, and only adds to her joyous accessibility for literally anyone. The production is additionally stellar, having a crisp and modern sound all throughout.

My only gripes with Dedicated is that it's a solid pop album but nothing more than that. It doesn't innovate or massively change music like Emotion did, it's in short a solid, simple and fun album. Compared to Emotion, Dedicated feels a lot more palatable and cohesive as an album, but Emotion definitely has the better singular tracks.

Favourite Song: Julien

Best: No Drug Like Me, Now That I Found You, Want You In My Room, Everything He Needs, Happy Not Knowing, I'll Be Your Girl, Automatically in Love, Feels Right, Real Love, For Sure, Party For One

Worst: Too Much
