going into this i expected an album full of electropop bangers and to be fair, she started out really strong, but about 9 tracks in is where she fell on her face.

i’m not completely against stripped down ballads, however, i feel like they don’t work for an album like this, or at least for me they don’t. the track list is unnecessarily long and every time a ballad came on, i was sitting through it waiting for the next song that was hopefully gonna rescue this mess. that song never came.

instead of making a 24 track long album, she could’ve easily split it into two albums for a more cohesive and consistent sound.

i understand that the concept here could’ve been that on one half - christina embodies this robot-like, upbeat, flawless persona and on the ballads is where her real emotions peek through, but even then it feels like this album drags on forever. it’s not a consistent listen, but i would definitely revisit some of the tracks on the first half.
