As problematic as he is now, this was Kanye's prime: when his controversy was more personal and romantic than public and hateful. There's literally nothing here to critique. It's as raw and exciting as it is heavily impactful. An album with this much production, collaboration, and meaning only comes once a lifetime.
One of those albums that subconsciously guided my upbringing. It's the perfect fusion of pop and hip-hop.
"Like That" is the obvious standout, the rest is mostly filler. But still a very acceptable release from Metro.
A more consistent follow-up to their first two albums, but still lacks the personality of Radiohead that I enjoy on their later works. Not a whole lot stands out to me on this record.
