Ya’ll are pushing 50 there is no way you guys are still doing this
Love is stupid. Sure, love is awesome and sweet and cuddly, but is it really? I’ve seen people think that their end goal in life is to fall in love. It’s delusional, and I should know, because I am one of those people. It’s done me more harm than good, both in the short and long term. Love becomes this disgusting feeling that makes you want to be in anyone else’s skin but your own. So the question ... read more
I’m genuinely on my last legs with shit like this
Allow me to explain the situation the best I possibly could. When I was in 8th grade, I was obsessed with this song called “The Mind Electric,” a track from the Tally Hall side project; Hawaii: Part II (10). To this day, that song AND album remains among my favorites of all time. So I did some searching on Spotify for any covers, and came across… This.
The CHEESE Album [TCA]. What? Why? Who? What? How? Huh? What? Who? ... read more
I'm tyred of all the Australian bands.
Nah, I’m kidding. I love the music scene in Australia! I’ve mentioned this not too long ago in my Ninajirachi review, but there is certainly something in the water down there. Specifically, I was drawn into the scene by none other than King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, a band I am just a smidge away from completing their studio discography. Actually, it wasn’t too long ago that I reviewed their collaboration album with another ... read more
Oakwood is… Back?
So you're telling me, Oakwood dropped this year before King Gizzard? Fucking Oakwood? The band infamous for only having 9 songs across 2 EPs that were released over a decade ago and then never releasing anything again, you mean to tell me that they’re back? Forget Gizz, actually. Let's only talk about Oakwood for just a moment. While I'm not too familiar with the history of the band, I take it that this band is relatively inactive besides going on ... read more
The final gates have openned…
At long last, I am standing in front of the door to the last remaining King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard project. This ginormous journey through the band’s extensive discography– one that I will cherish and appreciate for the rest of my life–all started with a text from my Aunt, “Do you happen to like the band King Gizzard? I’m going to one of their concerts soon”. A few months prior to the text, I first considered ... read more
FINALS WEEK ALREADY???
Sorry to complain, but I’m currently going through the dreaded finals week. Like last year, I’m probably not going to be posting much in the following weeks. Maybe I’ll drop an album review here and there, I’ll certainly finish my King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard dive, but I can’t necessarily say how much or how little I will be writing. Regardless, I want to leave ya’ll with a few more reviews and sprinkle in some here and there.

I review just about anything at this point.
I’ve made it very clear that I am a huge fan of flash games. I guess “was” is a better term, as the service discontinued in 2020, but I had my fair share of absolutely incredible flash games. Give Up, Happy Wheels, Strike Force Heroes, and perhaps most everlasting— at least to me—Bloons TD5. The bloons series was perfect for my pea-sized middle school brain. I liked monkeys, and now I get to make them throw the darts. ... read more
Heavy music for when you just want to disappear
I was originally going to do an album marathon today, but I have a bit too much work on my hands at the moment, so we’ll only review a measly one or two albums today. God damn the clock, but at least that means I could spread out my time just a little bit better. Regardless, what you’re seeing right now is Jane Doe, one of the highest acclaimed Metalcore records of all time. Depending who you ask, I’ve dipped my toes into ... read more
There has been a discussion on how much people can and should separate the art from the artist. I once described the barriers as a conscience based dilemma, “There comes a point in separating the art from the artist that is solely based on conscious,” which practically means that the inherent moral flaws that come from listening to a controversial piece of media comes from the listener’s awareness and open-mindedness of what the artist’s actions says about the art. ... read more
Chud (America): Dweeb, loser, lame
Chud (Australia): Swag, genuine, gay
Australia is probably one of the most underrated countries when it comes to making music. I think some people fail to remember how much good music comes out of there, especially in the past decade. Think of acts like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Tame Impala, Joji, Tropical Fuck Storm, and the list just goes on and on. Among these incredibly influential artists, is one that came out of practically nowhere and hit the ... read more
Australian Zack Hill
Michael Cavanagh is absolutely one of my favorite drummers of all time. Not just in terms of drummers who are still playing, or even still alive, Cavs is this insane jack of all trades, master of all kinds of guy that has evolved to truly be one of the best drummers of our generation. Being the drummer in the ever-so-changing King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Cavanagh switches his style every other record, to the point where he hasn’t really left a stone unturned ... read more
Misnomer supremacy
In the blink of an eye, Spring is almost over! Though Spring is usually my least favorite season, I’ve had a very good past month in comparison to last year. My Spring mood has switched from BCNR’s For The First Time (9.4) to Fishmans’ Long Season (8.2), if you know what I mean.
Ah, anyways, I was scrolling through my radar and remembered I’ve got a few albums I wanted to review just in time for Spring. I like to categorize albums and tag them, and I ... read more
Watched this right after bawling my eyes out to Mysterious Skin, lets fucking go?
This is one of the last releases I have before I close off my initial King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard discography dive. Besides their concert film, a compilation, and just one more album, I don’t have much between me and the end of this whole series. I’m considering listening to as little as 5 live albums after seeing them live in August, but I’ve also flirted with the idea of— wait for ... read more
The Friday Night Funkin’ to Death Grips pipeline is real and it is the next black plague
First off, super sorry for not writing the whole thing. I got shaken up last night after being bit by a tick. I’m completely fine, but that screw up forced me to quit listening to this album about halfway through. Are we cool? Cool.
Friday Night Funkin is a game that holds an unfortunate amount of nostalgia for me. Without going too far into why (Since you can and probably SHOULD read my ... read more
“Friday night funkin,” ☕️*takes sip* I haven’t heard that name in years
Sometimes I completely forget that I am damn near a fully grown adult and not just some slightly bigger middle schooler. About 2/3 of my life was spent playing video games and chudding out, and the rest was me struggling with mental health issues. I think we’re back on track to the safer middle ground, but that got me thinking back to the transitional period where I was still an annoying little ... read more
Foreign Friday is over.
Hey guys, Annie here. Over the past month, I've realized that having a routine for when I listen to an album is stupid. I love listening to music from all over the world, but I think setting up weird boundaries within the Foreign Friday series led me to be burned out from writing more reviews. Instead, I will simply try to review a new album from a foreign artist every week or so, but I won’t lose sleep if I don’t. I do seriously love listening to this ... read more
She [Head On] my [Mystery Jack] till I [Float Along]
We are wrapping up the Gizzdive on two completely different poles of the band’s history. The only studio albums left are 2022’s Omnium Gatherum, and 2013’s Float Along - Fill Your Lungs. I’m a bit surprised I didn't review either one sooner, since I was familiar with the two records when I started getting into King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Way before I listened to Nonagon Infinity, I really wanted the Head ... read more
This ain’t your GRANNY’s trap shit, this is some REAL trap shit
I’ve had some nice things to say about XVDIN, I’ve had some mean things to say, too. I could really appreciate his growth as an artist, from his early work prodding and rapping for the L34N $1PP3R$ with some pretty minimal and unprofessional effort, to his most recent full length record, I F1NALLY FEEL ALIVE (7.5). XVDIN’s first few albums are professionally known as “not good,” ... read more
Fraction Faction, where you at?
Quantity of quality was not quite the motto of King Gizzard before 2015. Sure, the band constantly put out 1-2 records every year after 2010, but no where in the contract did the band include “You must release 5 albums in one year”. Simultaneously, King Gizzard wasn’t really a band the experimented with ideas. There were concepts and themes to an album, sure, but nothing crazy like Nonagon Infinity (9.5), Made in Timeland (4.1), or even Changes ... read more
Ts foreign fridaying me
I’ve got a question that will determine my thoughts on you as a person; What was the first punk band? If you said The Ramones or Sex Pistols, you’d be dead wrong, and I’d have to ban you from my general proximity. If you said The Stooges or New York Dolls, I’d have respect but politely tell you you’re wrong. If you said you didn’t know, I’d appreciate your honesty and give you a hug. I’d then explain to you that the first ... read more
