easily the most dated sounding album in her discography. production leaves no space at all.
Having a strong persona doesnt justify such lack of evolution and dynamics, whether sonically or artistically. A few albums into his career, the music sounds as stale as the water in the cover looks.

"agreed that the lyrics are not the biggest problem bc how is "The production for Midnights felt so reused and old, whereas TTPD is such a new sound from Taylor." even true. the synth beats are atrocious on both records. See in bejewled, mastermind from midnights and in "broken heart" from ttpd."

She used to be careful with her adjectives and metaphors but here she just throws in whatever sounds smart and "cathartic". 2. The production is dated and off-putting at worst, and repeated, bland at best. 3. the vocal mixing is not it."
