What a terrible cover, took everything good about the original and threw it out in favour of making the most boring piano ballad known to man

The name maybe doesn't give this song the best first impression, but I think this is a pretty decent piece of garage rock. Obviously it's very repetitive but that's very clearly intentional and I don't think it hurts the song. The instrumental definitely carries the song though, with the guitar solo especially being a highlight for me.

Perhaps the most overrated us number one single of all? The instrumental is certainly unique but I don't know, I just don't vibe with it at all, and even if I did like it more I'm not sure that would justify the reputation as one of the best songs of all time that this song seems to have. The humming at the end is also just straight up annoying... Perhaps the lyrics have something profound to say but as usual for me I have never really paid much attention to them. The instrumental is great and Petula's singing is pretty good, which makes this a decent song overall. I prefer this over her other chart topping hit Downtown from the year before
