After listening to CHROMAKOPIA I wanted to revisit a few of Tyler's projects that I wasn't fully familiar with, every time I revisit Tyler's music I'm reminded just how good he really is, I genuinely think everything Flower Boy and onward is all 8-9's, If Tyler keeps his run going I genuinely think he'll start having one of the best catalogs in music
makes you want to go in a forest and hug trees
This is the first album I've ever heard from The Cure, and gotta say, not disappointed, every blend of genre and sound works so well here, average length of each sounds 6+ minutes here and yet I wasn't bored throughout the whole project, really solid, excited to hear more
a couple tracks grew off me a bit but overall a really solid effort and project from Tyler, songs like Take Your Mask Off, St. Chroma, Darling, I, Like Him, etc, are all incredible tracks that really make this project, Interested to see whether Tyler does another album like this again or if his next will be something more adjacent to CMIYGL, either way I doubt I'll be disappointed
Rating is for the bonus tracks
Bonus tracks aren't bad, just don't hold up to the rest of the album imo
Easily logics best and most consistent (atleast from what I've heard so far) some of his best production, rapping, storytelling, etc, overall a really solid project
not any bad tracks here, but Imo doesn't hit the same emotional highs as the last project, overall solid atmospheric Drum and Bass
I don't even have words for this project, listen to it if you haven't, if you don't like it, try AGAIN!!!
It's so peak, probably the only instrumental version of an album I've ever been excited to listen to, each song with and without vocals are incredible, without the shoegaze vocals the tracks start sounding like something that'd be playing in the background the last time you got to see someone, in a happy way, cherishing the moment together one last time before saying goodbye, while the songs with vocals feel like enjoying the moment with that person, not even having the ... read more
A beautiful blend of noise, every song blends together but is also so unique and special at the same time, somehow this project manages to be dreamy, melancholic, happy, makes you wanna lay down and stare at the sky, and also makes you wanna run in a field of flowers all at the same time, from FL alone I can tell this is gonna be a grower, I wish I had more to say but It's gonna take more listens to get my full thoughts on this project lmao
honestly wish femtanyl used more guitar in her music, this shit hard, wouldn't mind a whole album with this sound
