never thought i would ever get to see another boards of canada album get released. i like this more than geogaddi

i wasnt going to listen to any of quad's old mixtapes let alone review them, but "Idontwannaspeakagain" is too fire for me to not give this a listen. tbh i fw quad's old chill songs, especially songs like "I DON'T CARE" or "Idontwannaspeakagain". this project isnt actually all that bad. its definitely worse than voice memos but not by much. theres just too much braggadocious shit on here that resembles his work prior to this. the highlights ... read more

this album is crazy. i know everyone says it, but the fact that this came out in 2002 is just absurd to me. this might as well be a 2026 album. some of the best production in all of hip hop is on this project. one pretty massive gripe i have with this is the song titled "Black Smoke Rises" which is just 12 minutes of loud beeps and boops with recurring lyrics. that song is genuinely bottom 100 songs i have ever heard, it was so hard to get through. it didnt affect my enjoyment too ... read more

this was probably most most anticipated release of the year thus far. this album was announced at literally the perfect time for me. i first listened to american football back in 2025 with their first lp which i enjoyed a lot. i came back to the band this year in february which is when i really got into their music. around the time i finished listening to their discography, this was announced. lets just say i was very excited.
