This album manages to feel alien and unorthodox in a very subtle way. It reimagines what would be quite normal indie/pop with lyrics that don't feel like a human wrote them, as topics like death, castration, destruction, and love all blend together seamlessly and become oddly violent at times, while the music gives off the fact that it's how things are meant to be. An absolutely fantastic and dreadful listen. Spees’s vocals fit the grimy sludgy atmosphere perfectly, all while the instrumental tracks build suspense and a great sense of motion. The roughness of the mix adds to the whole experience of it all, and the xenharmonic aspect of the album (it having 23 notes instead of 12) creates very unique harmony and textures that may seem jarring at first, but sound absolutely amazing to the accommodated ear. Highly recommend.
