Feel like I've heard all these songs before. The vague anti-establishment narrative of Muse stuff nowadays with absolutely zero specificity of substance is getting pretty annoying, to be perfectly honest. There were many songs where I liked some individual aspect about it but then another section would come in and kinda ruin it or make it forgettable and generic.
This was disappointing, especially because SAWAYAMA and RINA are both amazing, near flawless projects for me. This just didn't have the same sort of edge or interesting experimentation that those projects did. This feels very much like Rina Sawayama trying to play it as safe as possible, and as a result some of the tracks sound a little samey. There is a section in the middle of this album where all of the hooks sound pretty much exactly the same. I know she can do better than this.

Weezer Album Dive 4/15 - Maladroit (2002)
I found this one really compelling. I think it's a lot more my style than a lot of other things that Weezer puts out. Death and Destruction was my favorite track, but there were certainly some other highlights as well (Dope Nose, Burndt Jamb).
Weezer Album Dive 3/15 - Green Album (2001)
Mostly just underwhelming. It all kinda sounds the same, to be perfectly honest. It isn't terrible or anything, though.
Weezer Album Dive 2/15 - Pinkerton (1996)
Pretty good, even if some of the lyrics can be a little pathetic (or creepy!) at times. This album is at its best when it's being emotionally intelligent and sensitive, which make for some pretty good highlights.
Best tracks: Getchoo, Why Bother?, Butterfly
Worst tracks: Tired of Sex, Across the Sea
Weezer Album Dive 1/15 - Blue Album (1994)
While there is some stuff here that I find incredibly cringe-worthy, such as the intro to Buddy Holly, this was a much better listen than I thought it was going to be. There isn't necessarily anything exemplary or memorable about this album, but all of the tracks are at least decent. If I'm going to listen to all the albums in the Weezer discography, I've gotta recognize that it's gonna get a lot worse than this. I could see myself coming back to this ... read more
What is any of this? This will be forgotten in two weeks time, if it's not dead on arrival. Nothing stands out in a positive light, with the only memorable parts being ridiculous shit like the entirety of the track "No Condom" or the dumbass album cover.
There are sounds in here that give me a headache. Every time.
As much as I love math rock and experimental music, this is certainly one of the more avoidable pitfalls.
Simply astounding. Takes me to another place each and every time. I could listen to the sound of this album for many hours more than what is just presented here. It sort of feels like floating through the void, but in the most intriguing and pleasant way possible.
