I used to be a brony, and I used to listen to... "Bronycore" music. (Music with themes or ideas around MLP: FiM. While I don't really do that anymore (save for General Mumble, who as an artist has gone past that in terms of stylistic virtues), however, I still hear about new releases here and there just due to being in that community for as long as I have.
So yeah, I had heard about this. Of course I did. And while first looking at it we get album art with tremendous amounts of cringeness, I still pressed play, it was only 21 minutes anyways, no harm, no foul.
And while I was cautious at the ending, I found myself slipping right back in like it was only yesterday where I'd listen to music similar to this, and yet, this one's different. This one replaces the more "bubblegum pop" feel that that speedcore style usually found in bronycore (yes I said that sentence) has for more of a harsher electronic - dubstep vibe. And I'm actually quite grateful that, while there is some speedcore moments in this, it's so infused with the dubstep style to as break away from the mediocrity and genericness that most other albums with speedcore influences had at that time.
I was actually quite surprised, just in general, at the amount of different genres I did find on here, (honestly, track seven being ambient was quite a change up, and track eight sounded just like something I'd find on an early Monstercat collection).
I'd recommend this to anybody who doesn't automatically shit on all things electronic/dubstep/brostep. This will probably be something you find quite a bit of enjoyment out of.
