$uicideboy$ - THY KINGDOM COME
90

I have been bad at reviewing lately, I'm aware of that. I plan on catching up soon.

This album was pretty cool

Various Artists - Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration Of Tom Petty
62

The artist selection and overall selection is pretty wild but overall there's some decent covers here and there but the only one truly worth a revisit is the Don't Come Around Here No More cover

$uicideboy$ - New World Depression
95

WAKE UP PEOPLE IT'S $UICIDEBOY$ TIME!!!!!

I can't even pretend that I haven't been waiting for this since the announcement, following along with all three singles when they dropped and when that clock hit 11 PM (CST moment) I knew exactly where to go.

And oh my fucking GOD this album is incredible, I know I'm going to probably write more with more listens but I genuinely think this might be the best the boys have had to offer so far, the production on this is just insane (Burgundy has been ... read more

christtt - WWW
97

so glad nobody else dropped today so that everyone could listen to the new christtt

edit: no way the cassette really sold out in 24 hours i hate you fucking people

edit 2: this album has gotten better with relisten after relisten, genuinely a very strong release. (still sad about the cassette though)

J. Cole - Might Delete Later
57

Somehow 43 minutes and still too long.

Listen, I've tried to like J. Cole, it's no secret that I'm not really the BIGGEST fan (fuck sake my favorite album of his is KOD and that seems to be peoples least favorite) but this? This was lame. Some of the best moments of this album would have simply been better with a different rapper, and I'll use the song everyone's talking about as an example: 7 Minute Drill

7 Minute Drill has one of the best and most engaging instrumentals on the entire ... read more

RecordCollector1972 - Pray MCMLXXII Reign (Tribute Album to "Pop Champagne")
55

So, after 100 tracks and five whole hours of Pop Champagne ooooo, I can confidently say that this album is good.

Do I agree that after 40ish tracks the album degrades in quality quite a bit? Yes, but I actually feel like that's due to the amount of love that went into those early ones, you compare the rest of the album to any ordinary mashup album and it's not even close to the worst thing in the field. Honestly, I kinda respect it as a whole for just being a big "lol, internet" ... read more

Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS
41

Surprised at the reception of this. I didn't hear the first O-rod record in full but I knew I wasn't the biggest fan from what I heard, and somehow this record still disappointed me. Either the songs here are boring as hell or just straight up cringe to listen to (seriously who told her to try to rap at all what the fuck)

EDIT: AIN'T NO WAY FANTANO THINKS THIS IS BETTER THAN DAMN. WOW

Dream - to whoever wants to hear
NR

manifesting track seven

FINNEAS - Optimist
36

FINNEAS’ Optimist starts off with a somber acoustic piece “A Concert Six Months from Now”, starts with hushed vocals before exploding into the chorus’ climax, bringing in a more harsh sound with powered riffs that give it an extra lift. I especially love the vocals around 2:16 in the track. “Falling in and out of love and falling in again. We were never any good at being friends” is delivered with this really nice zigzag vocal pattern, bouncing back and ... read more

an NFT in 2023 is fuckin crazy

STOiZY - COMMITTED TO THE VISION OF BIZARRENESS.

This shit floated to my TikTok for you page and this guy is just crazy I'm not even sure what to call this

100 gecs - 10,000 gecs
72

Should have just stuck to 1,000 Gecs.

Gorillaz - Cracker Island
90

For my 300th review, I decided I'd dive back into this record because, well, I just don't think it got enough love.

Now yes, you're hearing this from a Gorillaz stan, I'd just be stupid if I couldn't admit otherwise, however, I really think that what's going on here has deserved more praise than that which has been thrown around. I've seen a lot of people say that Gorillaz have gotten lazy and I just...don't agree?

Now, I'll list the major flaw about the album that I DO have, and this is ... read more

I Set My Friends On Fire - You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter
63

Honestly the worst offense here is the completely accurate for the time Crank Dat Metalcore Remix (REAL MP3)

Other than that, I've heard way fuckin worse, and I actually kinda like how whiny this dude sounds.

Melanie Martinez - PORTALS
63

EDIT: I was gonna say something nice about the record, but then you Melanie Martinez stans were insufferable on Twitter, so honestly? Just go fuck yourselves.

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
91

This is it, the 1,000th rating. While the last few days have been a lot of a mix between finding albums that I forgot I never even rated and diving down some interesting avenues, I noticed that I was nearing that 1K, and I decided that for it I really needed to find something special. There's a lot of shit that I've been behind on rating all these years, but I wanted this one to be something. I decided to do this record because as a young baby my mom used to sing me Hello, Goodbye, so I thought ... read more

$UICIDEBOY$ & SHAKEWELL - SHAMELESS $UICIDE

Honestly just not as good a tape as the last few.

ta1lsd0ll - cursed002
96

It's 2023, and with that this will mark epic rating #900 (although I'm missing plenty, depression and laziness will always prevent me from truly catching up), and the last month-ish has definitely been quite the fucking ride. I haven't really had any motivation to sit and RATE something. I'll listen to it in full sure (I've been going for 50's lounge lately so maybe expect ratings for those?)

Anyways, 2023 is hopefully going to be better. It hasn't started great, but seeing this definitely ... read more

""While Maynard is just as good a vocalist and songwriter here as he is on Tool, I do feel like the alternative rock sound is much more generic than the prog metal sound that Tool goes for." I can totally see this point of view, but I think personally that Maynard just shines better here. Tracks like Judith and 3 Libras, to me, are more stronger and make me want to go back to them way more than a sizable chunk of TOOL's whole discog (and I love both)."
