SHITCORE:
Honestly I'm not sure why people hate this record as bad as the scores reflect. I get it's not Fleetwood Mac but that shouldn't really devalue the sound, and there's some real cool stuff going on here and there.

Actually you know what I really want to sit here and actually talk about it a little bit because if anything it's just really fucking frustrating. His vocals, 70% of the time, are actually quite fine, but the just...at times lame at others cringey lyrics combined with what seems like no flow or thought process of musical direction tank it incredibly.

with a 2.68/5 on RYM and a 73 on AOTY, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for shitcore recs from the 60s. This will, in fact, be my first Johnny Cash record!
The spoken word style got really annoying after like, 10 tracks man.

So I actually grew up with this record a little bit, it came out around the heyday of my phase, and I really did bump it a lot... Now, I vaguely remember this record, and I remember hating everything else they released (I even went back and rated their debut, which was ALSO a shitcore chart album), but it'll be interesting to see what I still think is good.
Also Attila sucks.
But no seriously I don't think my 14 year old ass realized how fucking edgy Fronz was. I mean sure this ... read more

Next on the SHITCORE is Lou Reed's noise record, Metal Machine Music, and herein lies a somewhat small problem in my ratings system ideas. For albums of the abstract such as these, which are more just one piece than separate tracks, it's hard to just take an average score for them, so in this case, you won't get a track rating, the rating will just reflect how I feel about the whole "song" that is Metal Machine Music.
This is hauntingly cool. But way too long.
Next up on the SHITCORE ride is Bob Dylan's Under the Red Sky, and I can't really speak much about Bob Dylan himself, as this is only my second project with him (I've heard some other bits and pieces but no full record really), and while I don't consider myself to be hugely into him, I cannot lie that this scoring just didn't make sense. Maybe I myself am not getting it as an outlier, however, this album was a fun trip, it just seems like he's having a bunch of fun on this record.

Teen0fStyle and I are back again with the SHITCORE charts. This time, we decided that the original lame 2014 one or whatever was simply too outdated, simply took too much of one era into consideration...so now we've got like 400 more albums to eventually get through!
However, lady luck decided it was time for me to finally hear another Fall Out Boy record, and it's probably one of the one's I'd be the least excited about. (I genuinely think I'd be less excited for Save Rock and Roll or ... read more
Why not? This album had actually been in my radar for, well, since it came out. I was still hugely into my Skrillex phase around the time this dropped and, of course, Where Are Ü Now was massively successful at the time so I had already heard that, but the huge thing that had turned me off from it was actually the other half of the duo itself, Diplo. I'm just...NOT a Diplo fan. I've definitely tried to dip my toes into his discography (no full album listen, but still) and it's just never ... read more
Yeat has been quite the everpresent figure of 2022, and I'm not even afraid to admit that I found out about his music through TikTok (I'm sure the same can be said for many nowadays), but as polarizing as he is his style has definitely always intrigued me. I've heard bits from this album for quite a bit now (U could tëll had been in my playlist for a while now) so I think it's finally time to sit and hear the record.

As it is, if you follow me personally then you probably know that I've been slowly loving the trap scene more and more, and, admittedly, I'm quite foreign to a huge chunk of it. It took forever, but I went from not liking Carti whatsoever (I have tapped out of Die Lit seven times!) to having Whole Lotta Red being in my top eight most scrobbled album.
Pi'erre's production has interested me since I've fallen in love with WLR, and honestly? This surprised me more than I thought it would, while ... read more

At this point I'm at this weird Logic phase, I kinda like his stuff but I've never really delved into stuff past the Bobby Tarentino tapes besides the random tracks I've heard from each record. I said I wouldn't do it and then I did. And honestly? It's pretty alright mostly. There's some good tracks but some really just...awful moments here. Lil Darkie dropped a new EP, so you know what that means: mixed feelings from the audience! It never fails to see the absolutely polarizing thoughts of Lil Darkie.
AS FOR ME, FUCK YEAH BABY NEW EP. This new EP is definitely more up my alley after boros left me feeling a little...dry. I was wanting more, and while that EP wasn't bad, it wasn't the direction that I personally enjoyed as far as Lil Darkie's style. In terms of this new EP, the production here is probably the most consistent of any ... read more
I know I've rated this recently, and I mean really recently, but A) I didn't review it, and B) it's been in my rotation quite commonly since I did rate it so I only figure that returning to it so soon is only fair, if not to get a chance to talk about it because I genuinely feel like people are sleeping on a goldmine here, even if you're NOT a breakcore fan (which if you are, then by all means I'd consider this a must hear), but this is a really great starting record to get into the genre.
