im really not tryna always give jane 100s but her summer 2024 single run has always made me feel like nothing else. i was so fascinated with the idea of the pop album from the moment they brought it up in that interview from january and spent a long time since then trying to piece together all of the teasers from dj sets and interpolations on revengeseekerz to try to imagine what other songs from that album could sound like. listening to so what for the first time brought me to tears, not ... read more
is this the best kendrick album? absolutely not, not by a long shot. BUT it’s still really damn good.
it’s definitely his most fun record and there’s great writing and production on all of these songs. my jaw physically dropped when I heard SZA; it was so nice hearing her voice on not one but TWO TRACKS??? by far my favourite’s got to be heart pt 6 though, it’ll take a while before i can speak on the lyrics but i found the melodies on here incredible, the SWV ... read more
jane remover dropped. automatic 100
it’s so interesting to me how the britney song’s lyrics get totally recontextualized over this beat. the original hold it against me is so upbeat and..happy, but here the melodies and lyrics feel weirdly heartbreaking. i felt the same way about the mashup from her stranded.zip dj mix, and it’s really cool to me how it seems like flash in the pan was made as a result of that.
y’all already know i eat up anything that jane drops and ... read more
no thoughts, just Sludge. what the fuck man this is genuinely my aoty. i got absolutely no words, but i've never had such an intense and visceral experience listening to an album. there is genuinely not a single bad thing i can say about this. my brain is fried and the music is absolutely incredible all around...the lyrics are harrowing and the production is stellar. the guitar work in particular on songs like vitality glitch and the wallflower equation really struck me. the cover art ... read more
i have absolutely nothing of value to say about this album but i will say that this is my first tyler and i really really enjoyed it. definitely checking out his other stuff - every aspect of this from lyrics to production was incredible and i’m excited to listen to more !
listened to divorce lawyers i shaved my head for the first time a couple weeks ago and i'm still processing it all. words cannot describe how gut-wrenching this album is; Jordaan Mason's lyrics are absolutely harrowing and the sonic palate makes for an eerie and heartbreaking atmosphere. it's a tough listen, but absolutely one that is worth it. i'm at a loss for what else can be said. i never tear up at music on my first listen, but somehow the song "(s)mother" ... read more
aaaaahhh i can't believe i never reviewed this!! everything perfect is well....everything to me. james ivy has been one of my favourite up and comers and this project is a lovely (maybe a little short) set of sugary shoegaze/indie rock songs that i can't help but listen to over and over. it's definitely an early 2000s nostalgia-based sound, which i really really appreciate. there's an air of hopefulness to all of the songs on here, and i find the themes present in the lyrics ... read more
idgaf i love this album so much
i think it's so colourful and sonically every track is like ear candy to me. also heat waves is such a fcking banger. i was genuinely overjoyed that it got as big as it did. shoutout to my friend for reintroducing me to this ! i hadn't listened since 2021 and i think it resonates even more with me these days.
cute, soothing, jazz / lofi music. so nice and warm and one of my favourite things to listen to when I'm studying. before i realized electronic music helped me do math faster, this was my shit. still has a special place in my heart :)
she found me crying...she crew too.....together we crode
duuude i remember jane remover discord when she performed this song for the first time live in Chicago. it was sort of a core memory for me since id been following the tour so closely. watching low quality videos where the bass was all blown out and distorted, i still knew this song was a gem. seriously some of the best songwriting of hers, ever. when she started talking about how jr3 was going to be more electronic and experimental, i ... read more
