Half Man Half Biscuit - All Asimov and No Fresh Air
75

I'm thinking this will go up over time but we shall see! I really did enjoy this Album, it reminded me a lot of CSI: ambleside, but it still has its own vibe. If I had one complaint it would be the mixing, it can be a little funny with the vocals and guitar sometimes, the bass is really loud in the mix but I can't complain because Neil Nails it as per usual.
My favourite songs on the record are easily The bliss of the hereafter and possible side effects, both songs that gave me ... read more

Half Man Half Biscuit - The Voltarol Years

For a band going on as long as hmhb this album is truly great, their sound continues to evolve and change but still capture that great wit and irreverence that makes hmhb.. well hmhb.

Have a Nice Life - Sea of Worry

Definitely understand why someone would listen to this and not enjoy it as much as their first two albums or be dissapointed, but I think it's a step in a direction that keeps things fresh and interesting for the band. The first two songs in this album for me are propably the smoothest and cleanest, and everything else sounds a lot more like a HANL album. especially the second half of this album.
The HANL formula is still there, that post-punk/goth rock/shoegaze is still there, but ... read more

The Divine Comedy - Casanova

One of my favourite albums to put on and enjoy all the way through, each track in here is at least solid or listenable, but most are so much fun to sing along to and so much fun to listen to.
Favs: pretty much everything but middle-class heroes

Oasis - Definitely Maybe

A solid solid britpop record, fantastic vocals.
The structure and sound of the songs can get slightly repetitive but it's not much of an issue, highly recommend to anyone really.
Now onto blur

Aphex Twin - Syro

Boop Bworp beep
Very fun, fantastic background music and just as good to sit and listen to!
The more music I listen to the more I disagree with fantano

Weezer - Pinkerton

This album has a great sound and improves on blue in my opinion with deeper/more personal meanings.
fantastic album to listen to if you're hurting from sort of romantic stress or trouble.

Ween - 12 Golden Country Greats
75

This album is pleasant, it isn't groundbreaking or riduculous or eclectic, It's just pleasant.
If you like good country music you'll like a lot of this album. I have never been a huge ccountry fan but this is one of the things that convinced me country music isn't just post 9/11 slop pop country we have today.
Also contains help me scrape the mucus off my brain which is a beautiful song

Ween - The Pod
90

Fill me up with sludge and mud please.
I love this album too much, It sounds unbearably brown at points but it's so different to anything I have ever heard before In my life.
It's so unique that even it's "worse" songs have something going for them. I personally love molly and boing, I think they are hilarious and are a lot of fun as a listening experience.
Deaner also shreds some serious shit on this album when he wants to, (see sketches of winkle and Doctor Rock) and ... read more

The Velvet Underground - Loaded
100

Extremely fun and lighthearted while also feeling genuine and also somewhat musically interesting still, this album is good proof that pop is not an inherently flawed genre. This album is the truly the white pepper of velvet underground.
Favs: Who loves the sun, rock & roll, cool it down, cool it down, I found a reason (especially this one) and oh sweet nuthin.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
90

We all know why this album isn't a ten...
The interludes aside though, this album is fantastic to listen to, a perfect parallel of hubris and humility where we hear Biggies innermost and darkest thoughts, we also hear him getting his johnson sucked.
Not the biggest fan of Friend of mine or Unbelievable but the rest of the album hits the mark to the point where i can forgive it.
Favs: Things done changes, Gimme the loot, Machine gun funk, Warning, Ready to die, One more chance, Juicy, ... read more

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

Haha yeah it's cliche but cmon it's dark side of the moon, it really really is that good, honest. It's honestly hard to know what to say about it other than it makes you feel like you're going to go crazy and die but that's just okay. The climaxes on this album are truly hard to rival, with time being one of my all time favourite songs, not to mention guitar solos. truly best experienced with no distractions in full. not that the songs don't work by ... read more

Pink Floyd - Meddle
NR

A lovely collection of pretty experimental songs, Echoes definitely being the highlight. A great overall listening experience and thoroughly recommendable.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!

Definitely something that I revisit when i feel like it, I cannot for the life of me stop listening to sleep, it is a beautifully heart wrenching song that reminds me a little bit of earthmover, and I FW earthmover very very heavily

Slowdive - Souvlaki
90

This album makes me melt like fucking butter oml, I had never been into shoegaze but this album has taught me that it can sound dreamy and ethereal rather than ear-splitting like Psycho candy (which i love).
This is an album I feel very compelled to revisit over and over again for it's seemingly magical soothing effects, very very very few albums give me chills as consistantly as this album. It feels like floating, there's no other word for it honestly
Favs: Alison, Machine gun, 40 ... read more

Primus - Pork Soda
100

Hamburger train alone makes this album a 10 for me, this whole feels like it's covered in fucking gravy and shit and piss and oh my god it rocks so unbelievably hard. The album knows when to back off and give you space and knows when to hit hard and loud and heavy, it's strangley dancable in a stomp around and flail kind of way, the rhythms are perfect and the drums and guitar compliment the frankly disgusting basslines absolutely perfectly. Feels like being hit in the side of the ... read more

Primus - Frizzle Fry
100

Fuck yeah this album rocks so hard. To me this album is a perfect mix of heavy and weird, which is absolutely what primus do best. As far as I can tell this was extremely unique when it came out, of the original 3 primus albums this one is *probably* my favourite. it changes around though definitely
Les Claypool is what inspired me to pick up bass, not only is he insanely talented, I love how weird his music and style are
Favs: To defy the laws of tradition, too many puppies, frizzle fry, john ... read more

Beck - Mellow Gold

Pretty good, It's pretty hit or miss but the songs that hit hit pretty hard
I don't particularly feel the need to revisit it but I wouldn't complain if I had to listen to it again
Favs: Pay no mind, soul suckin' jerk, mutherfucker, beercan
