Decent. Absolutely baffling knowing that this followed up Trench. Sometimes its lower stakes "let's make a catchy song" works. Shy Away's very solid, The Outside is kinda fun. I'm conflicted on Choker and Saturday, the former has great verses and then a very disappointing chorus. The latter is just insanely catchy but also insanely cheesy. Never Take It was the first one I didn't like. Didn't care for No Chances either. I weirdly enough liked Formidable and ... read more
I wasn't looking for an album to fall in love with this year but this record told me that I should think otherwise
So chill, so awesome, so amazing. It's a great song, trust me. Though I am weird, I kinda like how the song is mixed. Live version is better.
I had no clue what was happening after 2 minutes. I like it, it's good. Though don't trust me when I say that, I think Like All Before You is good.
There are two things I usually don't care for in music, live albums and long albums. I don't think I need to say how this release is the exception to those two things.
I thought it was good on first listen. Then I realized almost every song on it would get stuck in my head from time to time and now I realize it's amazing. An amazing addiction that is. I can't stop singing the "doo doo doo" part from POKKA POKKAand saying "I think weather, I think weather." Neither of those come close to how many times I've sung to myself "magic love, magic love." Please help.
If Fishmans were time wizards and made the complete 35 minute song into 3-5 minutes without cutting anything somehow, I would put this on loop constantly and it would probably be my favorite song ever. Since Fishmans were not time wizards, it's instead just one of my favorite songs and I don't listen to it every day on loop.
When I listen to an album and I like a song from it, chances are that on this website it's either one of the highest rated or one of the lowest rated. In this case, my favorites like The Doctor, Hooked, and Black Eyelashes are rated very low. I do get it but I also don't. Have a good.
I can't stop going back to it again and again. It might be obvious to say this, but it's so unbelievably interesting every step of the way. I can't lie, I love this album front to back.
This album just grew and grew and grew on me the more I listened. The sound of Like All Before You is not gonna be something everyone likes and it's not as obviously great as the previous Voidz records. I'm not even sure I like this album genuinely or ironically but I'm leaning more towards genuinely. Somehow, despite me not caring much for the singles, I ended up kinda loving this album. I think I feel the same way I do for this album as I do for The King of Limbs by ... read more
This is less interesting than the 2022 Chris-Mas EP. It's strange since I do enjoy 3 of the 4 tracks. The Sun is Gone (Merry Chris-Mas) and A Corn Domgerson Chris-Mas are both very pleasant. Secrets About Santa is very funny and is probably my favorite track from it. Then we have Sirhcles for Chris-Mas. Oh my. This song is maybe the worst mixed and produced thing I have ever heard in my life. It is actually impressive how terrible it sounds. Everything feels like it's being drowned ... read more
One of the stranger Drosps releases due to the very nature of it. It's a single, that's it. Not in promotion of anything, not meant to lead into something bigger, it just is there.
The song Sleeboat, while being pretty terrible mixed, has good qualities to it. It can have some very fun parts and its chorus is definitely one of them. The guitar is weird but unique and the bridge that leads into the strange outro has both good and bad vocals in it. The outro is weird and not usually ... read more
It's a rocking album. Jacqueline, The Dark of the Mantinée, Cheating On You, This Fire, Darts of Pleasure, and Come On Home are all bangers and bops. 40' is a great closer too. Such rocking tunes. Oh yeah there's also Take Me Out too that one's great.
Every second of it was lovely. It feels so unique yet so familiar to things I've heard before. I quite like it.
