feminine and whimsical lead vocals that give the music an upbeat feel despite possibly sadder lyrics. catchy songs yet the lyrics seem to all blend into one in your head until you reach the chorus.
love the use of the keyboard that accompanies the vocals.
a pretty solid album.
faves:
falling in love with myself again, amateur hour
lows:
kinda the rest of the album, starts to sound quite same-y
young nick cave at what id say was his finest.
bizarre and freaky, creepy vocals, insanely good instrumentals.
i really find little fault with this record, it’s one of my faves and i come back to it a lot.
faves: MR CLARINET, the hair shirt, happy birthday
least faves: guilt parade
solid compilation album.
blah blah blah lots of tracks loses itself but it’s a compilation album so it’s allowed to do that it’s not meant to flow perfectly
faves: this is my jet, ready whenever, what am i supposed to do
least faves: spin
a masterpiece of a soundtrack.
so beautifully curated to the movie.
coming of age.
my favourite movie soundtrack.
faves: a well respected man - the kinks, sea of love - cat power
very esoteric and whimsy
i like the kinda jarring vocals they add to the vibes heavily
faves: me and my madness, skipjack
skips: she and me, sacramento
i wish i could rate this as high as hayday
the first half, absolutely stunning, amazing song after amazing song.
second half sadly not as strong..
classic vkei
cannot complain
as much as i do not like gackt as a person GOD that man can sing!!!
one of my fave bedroom pop eps ever.
i love feeble little horse.
the songs on this album r honestly my fave on the roster.
and i always like a little intro, interludes and outro very reminiscent of the structure of afysco by panic in that way.
i like the grungier take they take on bedroom pop.
the instrumentals r reminiscent of a lot of skramz tracks without the excessive screaming.
i love an album that uses a lot of voice tracks in the intro / interlude of songs.
honestly flh remind me a ... read more
i loved this. a lot.
defo something i would go back to again and again
shoutout to tommy for putting me on
i wish fuck you nakamura wasn’t the first track.
it’s my favourite track don’t get me wrong.
but i really sets the flow of the album off for a dramatic downfall.
i feel like this release could be split into 2 seperate 8 song long albums and id rate it a lot higher.
i can’t rate lower than 70 tho, i can’t say there is a song id skip on a listen through.
a great album, just loses itself a bit by having 16 tracks.
id rate it higher if i hadn’t seen it live.
the guitars and drums added to the live performances take it up just that notch it needs
grindhouse and cicadas da best tracks on the album
pre ordered this on cd like immediately as it came out.
a very solid album
went into this thinking there’d at least be 1 other song as good as senses working overtime. there was not.
i liked the first 2 songs
got worse as i carried on listening, would not listen to the full thing again apart from a few singles
