Pretty good, but it doesn't really pick up until the second half of the song. The first half is basically just "what if Akon sang 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'"
It's interesting that if you read reviews of Thriller 25 from 2008, critics almost universally lambasted this. Which is ironic, because I think it's the best of the remixes lol.
Still pretty fun and catchy, but some of Kendrick's allegations against Drake on this and Meet the Grahams haven't been entirely substantiated since the beef, which kind of makes this age a bit in retrospect. Not as much of a banger as Euphoria either, or as shocking as Meet the Grahams. Still has some very funny lyrics.
Considering how god awful their cover of Faith is, this wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. Still not good. The vocals are WAY worse than the original especially. Still, maybe a bit overhated imo.
Just a really nice song. I think I prefer this to the Smash Mouth cover, but both are good.
No way people on here are rating this genuinely and critically, as if the reason this song was popular is because it was actually a great song lol. It was a funny YouTube video in 2013, simple as.
It’s good! It’s not amazing, or even close to his best single, but it’s good! Not sure why certain Twitter users decided to jump to hate on this so quickly. It’s like people think the success of someone like Bruno Mars is a personal attack on their favorite artists or something.
I’m confused why this is his most viewed song on YouTube? It is nostalgic, but it’s not even the first song I think of when I’m remembering nostalgic Bruno Mars songs (Locked out of Heaven immediately comes to mind). The music video is funny, but the song itself?
“In the absence of securtity, I made my way into the night/Stupid Cupid keeps on calling me, but I see nothing in his eyes/I miss my baby oh yeah, I miss my baby tonight”
Takes me to heaven every time I hear it
One of the few Christmas songs I would go out of my way to listen to. There has never been a single cover of this that has come close to the original.
I would genuinely rather listen to this than Jack Harlow's entire discography. True white rappers right here 👆
