In my humble opinion this is BMTH’s best album. They explore many different sounds and vibes yet the album doesn’t feel uncoordinated. ‘Run’ is my favourite song by them and for me is just the cherry on top of a pretty incredible album.
Yeah this is superb. Figure 8 might genuinely be the best song I’ve heard in the past 10 years.
Me and Your Mama / Stand Tall is arguably the best intro/outro combination that any album has to offer.
It’s no Oxymoron but still a great listen. Rico Nasty feature of the year so far too.
I was excited for this and unfortunately I’m left disappointed. Upon first listen I had a high opinion but the longer I’ve had with the album the less I like it. “BURN” is the only track still in rotation for me, let’s hope the next 2 volumes and “Y-3” are better than this.
How hot of a take is it to say that "Now or Never" is Kendrick's best song?
I could ramble on forever about this album an it's importance to me but that would just be me blurting out thoughts and feelings which wouldn't make for the best read. The one thing I will say is that in all seriousness "Gotta Get Up" may have genuinely saved my life. All I can do is thank Kali for making something that moved me and left such a lasting impression on my life.
“Get on the floor” is and forever will be one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time. I don’t understand how someone could make an album this good, the only word I can use to describe “Off the Wall” is timeless.
Admittedly I am massively biased when it comes to my opinion on any of Kali’s music but that’s for good reason. “Isolation” genuinely changed my life, it somehow made my life better in a weird way. Red moon has had a similar effect on me since its release and I just continue to fall in love with this project as time goes on. “I wish you roses” and “all mine” are genuinely some of my favourite songs I’ve heard in a long, long time. I love tribe with all my heart and this album really hits me deep during every single listen. It’s insane to me that they were able to put this album together at all, let alone make it a masterpiece and a definite modern day classic. Knowing this album was also a send off to Phife Dawg makes it an even more important piece of music. Nearly 10 years later I’m still spinning this regularly, it’s so incredible.
Such an overhated album. Sure Kanye is capable of a lot better than this but some people act as if this album is just a piece of garbage. The production is really underrated in my opinion and it does have some really really enjoyable tracks, ‘God Is’ is such a beautiful listen for example. Maybe I’m just biased but I really don’t think this album is bad by any means.
After my first listen I sat there contemplating if this was the greatest album ever made, of course it’s not but the impact LAHAI has had on me thus far is nothing to scoff at. Sampha is a genius and i believe this album is him flexing his creative muscles. Truly an album that makes you feel things even if you try to resist it, LAHAI is proof that music truly is the great communicator.
My personal favourite album of all time. A masterpiece that came long before “Ye” existed, this was authentic Kanye West at his best. A series of incredible features and beats all tied together by Kanye’s performances. A timeless classic and one that I’ll never ever grow tired of, this album perfectly encapsulates why I love HipHop.
