A true masterpiece, each track is a beautiful message of peace and hope addressing issues that even fifty years later remain all too relevant. Its an emotional ride with no real breaks; instead, the album plays as if one continuous piece with each track flowing seamlessly to the next, immersing you in a journey through profound themes and stunning soul.
The title doesn’t lie, it’s new, it’s distinctive and most importantly it sounds amazing. Black midi is good but Geordie really comes into his own here embracing a more jazzy sound than in the past. As much as I like his vocals I really like the track ‘the new sound’ which I felt gave off massive Casiopea vibes. ‘The magician’ was great as well, it takes a while to get going but the outro is probably the best part of the whole album.

Each one of the trio is exceptional in their own right but together they create a lovely silky sound that really emphasises the sentimentality in some of the tracks. Fawning have put together a really stunning album here. The dream pop element holds across the whole thing but there’s also a really nice individuality to each track. Loved the outros and the saxophone in nothing matters.
Great debut with some incredibly catchy songs. It feels fresh and distinctive, and although there are some flaws, the potential really shines through.
