enjoyable listen! certainly frontloaded and a product of its time (i can imagine myself listening to this album working at an overpriced burger joint wearing plaid) but i have a soft spot for this era of indie so i thought this was a pretty good album, even if a lot of the middle doesnt do much for me, im glad i got to check this one out

incredibly strong project from cole despite a towering runtime and some of his best work in years. i will say the first disc was better overall but honestly disc 2 might have had higher peaks but great album all around

really enjoyed this album! this was a good listen and doechii shows a lot of versatility on this record. the lyricism is also really fun to follow along with and theres some really nice flows here. my only issue with this album is that there are a lot of songs here with short runtimes that a good amount of them dont make a lasting impression but the ones that do really stick. overall i was very impressed by this album and how consistently good it was and im excited for what doechii has in store ... read more
(so so sorry for the late review!!!!)
WOW what an album, i wasnt sure if i was gonna like this since im not the biggest jazz or ambient guy but this record was incredible. the soundscapes floating points creates on this album are out of this world, and its contrasted greatly with pharoah sander’s immaculate saxophone playing. every track adds a new element like strings to what is basically a 40+ min long track but it never gets boring. overall great stuff, very glad i finally got around ... read more
super fun album! theres a lot of styles inside of this album and it stays super entertaining throughout the end. the production is really good and chappell has some pretty good vocals too. not too much to say about this one but i really enjoyed it and im glad chappell is one of the biggest names in music rn!
favs: femininomenom (hopefully spelled it right), red wine supernova, after midnight, hot to go, my kink is karma, pink pony club, naked in manhattan
my friend has been bothering me trying to get me to listen to this album, and im very happy i finally got around to it! this is such a fun album, from the glitchy production to porter’s vocals, its absolutely filled with hooks and it never gets boring. the opening 4 track run gives this album a really strong start but even in the middle of the album where it starts to lose steam it picks it up in the end with the really sweet closer “everything to me”. overall, really enjoyed ... read more
thank you peggy im pregnant now
favs: i scream this in the mirror…, i’ll be right there, vulgar display of power, exmilitary, jpegultra, either on or off the drugs, i recovered from thid
first time listening to a st vincent album and i liked it! really chill vibe to this album, feels like you’re in a new york lounge smoking a cigar with some wine in the other hand. the psychedelic instruments were a nice touch and i liked her lyricism on here. this isnt what i usally listen to so not many tracks stood out but overall it was a cool experience!
favs: live in the dream, the melting of the sun, down, somebody like me
