(so sorry for the late review!)

this albums pretty cool! i have a friend who’s really into ween so ive heard a couple of songs from this album but this record has a super nice psychedelic vibe to it. dean and gene show they have great musicianship with some great vocals and guitar work throughout. enjoyed this one quite a bit, i dont think its better than the mollusk (the only other ween album i’ve listened to) but this was a really good listen

Jeff Buckley - Grace
87

been meaning to give this one a listen for a while and man this is a really good album. jeff’s voice is unreal, and the intimate instrumentals give this album a super nice feel. this record has everything from middle age church hymns like corpus cristi carol to the hard rock banger enternal life and he makes it work no matter what hes doing. dont got too much to say but really enjoyed this one

favs: grace, lilac wine, hallelujah, lover you shouldve come over, eternal life

(sorry for the late review)
well this was something, ive heard a few songs from the original album but i wasnt prepared for how intense this album was. this album honestly doesnt fit well as something you just sit down and listen to, more like something playing at like an apocalyptic club. the soundscapes are truly insane, like i have no idea how she made some of the sounds on this record. but this album is a pretty hard to get into at over 1h and 30m but as i said earlier its not really made ... read more

been meaning to check this one out since it came out, and while i thought it was good and had a nice vibe to it, it definitely slogged on quite a bit. every song having this mellow feel to it made all the tracks blend in and a 63 min long runtime didnt help things. however, the instrumentals were cool, i like the vocals, but i could not make out what was happening lyrically. if this album was a lil shorter i would probably like it a bit more but for now i’d just have it as pretty ... read more

Vince Staples - Dark Times

vince has been one of the most consistent yet underrated rappers of the past decade. his latest album, dark times takes a more gritty, earl sweatshirt esque vibe and its amazing. the production holyyyyy the production is great, vince taps into his storytelling skills on this one, and the album is sequenced really well with some really good spoken word tracks. theres no club bangers on here like his recent work but still vince gave us one of the best projects of the year

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

i’ve been a fan of billie for quite a while, ever since she went mainstream in around 2018. each album she releases gets more personal, ambitious and mature than the last and her latest might be her best yet. finneas’ production is great on here like always, a lot of different styles are on display here and the transitions, whether between songs or through beat switches are cool. also the bass on “lunch” is insane, big fan of that track. billie’s vocals are ... read more

i was debating wheter or not i would give this a 10, but fuck it, this albums a 10.
i listened to this album the night it came out, but i dont remember much because i had to listen through my tv since i didnt have premium at the time. decided to the give this album another spin since my friend is always talking about this record and my god, my first listen didnt do it justice, this is a masterpiece. the lyrcism and storytelling is amazing, especially on “sistanem” and the closer ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

the title is my reaction when i listen to this album

great album, and while i dont think its on the same par as his other 3 major label albums, its a great listen. this album is a mix between trap bangers and more slower conscious songs, but the lyrcism is great throughout, its no secret why this album won a pulitzer prize. all of the features are good, most of the beats are great, and this album never gets boring. and even though theres a few songs here i dont care for that much, its another ... read more

(sorry for the late review)

though this album was pretty good, dnb is not usally my thing but i thought all of the songs were pretty enjoyable. i thought the vocals were pretty solid and all of the beats were nice. if i had a complaint for this album it would be that it wasnt very memorable and some tracks definitely blended in with eachother, but overall pretty good album, sorry i dont have a lot to say

Kali Uchis - Isolation

an album ive been meaning to check out for a while, and now that i have, i really liked it! i already recognized a few songs from tiktok and this album has a lot of really great hooks, especially steve lacy’s one on just a stranger. on that note i enjoyed all of the features and thought they all brought something new to the table, and damon on in my dreams was a super nice surprise. also the instrumentation is great, the 70s soul vibe to the record is super cool. also this album can be ... read more

(sorry for the late and short review)

didnt know what this was beforehand but turns out this a trap metal album, a genre that im not super into. after listening, i can safely say that its alright! the production on this album is pretty good, and on the first half there is a lot of fun tracks. the biggest issue is the lyricism which is often too edgy or for the more intimate tracks on the second half too corny for my liking. overall, theres stuff to be enjoyed here but its not something i think ... read more

Saba - CARE FOR ME

this album was reccomended by my friend and I’ve been meaning to listen to it for a while, so I finally got around to it. this albums pretty good! the lyricism is absolutely incredible throughout like on “life” that while really depressing paints a vivid picture of what his life is like (see what i did there). his flow throughout the project is also really good and i like the part in prom/king where his vocals and the beat become more intense. the beat selection might be the ... read more

Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs

I’ve known a couple of songs from this album already but never gave it a full listen until now. Man, this is a depressing ass album. Earl’s classic monotone style of rapping pairs up with these glitchy sample beats that can range from beautiful like on “The Mint” or deeply unsettling like “Red Water” or “Peanut”. The big issue with this album however is the very short tracklengths and total album length. There isnt anything wrong with having short ... read more

(sorry for the late and rushed review)

going into this i already knew a few songs from tiktok and knew one of the guys from tally hall (a band im not very fond with) made it. what do i think now that I’ve listened, um, its fine. let me say first thing joe fawley is a very talented musician, and you can tell this album is well made (i liked the vocals and im always a sucker for transitions between songs) i also think there is some good musicianship here, my main issue with this album and ... read more
