This is the best debut album of all time. In any genre. Frank absolutely blew the doors off of the music industry. There’s nothing missing on this album. Impeccable, thoughtful lyricism. Moving messages. God-tier lead and backing vocals and harmonies. Sad songs, happy songs, love songs, instrumental songs, everything. It is unbelievable how good Frank Ocean is.
I’m in shock. This album didn’t quite have the lasting quality of SAT 1 or 2 in my opinion, but I love the direction the group took. Much more involvement from all the members on each track really made for some awesome moments. To be honest, some of the tracks were just forgettable. The band came out strong and ended strong, though.
SAT2 sees BH really come into their own. Lyrics focus a lot more on external influence, like the band’s relationships with their parents, the haters, et cetera. Standouts from this album definitely include Bearface, Matt and Joba, but everybody really showed out. Ameer was more versatile, as was Kevin, Dom’s lyricism stepped up, it was a really quality project, that I wouldn’t skip a single song from. Congratulations to SATII on achieving that difficult and rare feat!
BROCKHAMPTON is here, everyone. This album is quite good. They make good music, but some of it sounds the same.
I think BH finally took a step backward. It’s unfortunate to say, but I just don’t like this album as much. It’s lower energy, there are dramatically more guest appearances, there are more filler tracks, despite a shorter tracklist, and I found it hard to get into a few songs. However, they’re a great group and provided some really good songs as well. This is not a bad album, but I don’t know if it even compares to the Saturation trilogy. Their singles were some of ... read more
