Three albums in and they still can't mix vocals properly,,
I've never listened to an album that has the vibe of "teenage dirtbags summer break" more than this. To me personally this is where Green Day really starts to get good, while still liking Kerplunk and 39/Smooth overall this is really an upgrade from "oh this is neat" to a band you can truly see evolve and go on from here. if it wasn't for Given Up this would probably be a low 60s album, maybe even high 50, but that song is so amazing genuinely one of if not the best in their whole career. There's some other good tracks in here like No More Sorrow but for the most part this album is so entirely safe sounding and feels like it's trying to mix generic pop radio rock with Linkin Parks iconic sound. This album feels messy, dirty, chaotic, and unprofessional but I mean it all in the best way possible.
