The first thing I wanna say is, oh my god, you can really tell she´s grown because her voice sounds so much younger here.
I mean, this is Pinkpanthress' essence on an album: short but incredibly good songs. If you had told me she wrote these songs today, I´d believe you, and honestly, I think it´s fine; her sound has never really gotten old to me, it´s so interesting, and, especially in this album, it always gives me a sense of uncertainty, of floating around and ... read more
I think the hype around this album killed it for me....
I knew Slayyyter from her previous album "STARFUCKER", which I love. So when I heard she was releasing an album, I was very hyped to hear something new from her. I heard a couple of singles when they dropped, but I never really went back to them. I knew when the album was released, but I didn´t give it a full listen until now, I say full because I started it and then dropped it after a couple of songs, not because I was ... read more
Review only considering the remixed songs!!!
"Midnight sun" was one of my favourite projects of last year (You can tell from my current profile picture), so I was really looking forward to a deluxe album, when I knew that she would instead release a version of the album full of remixes I didn´t hate the idea, we all know how many bops "Fancy some more" by PinkPanthress has (including one with Zara). She then went on to announce the collaborations, and I was pleasantly ... read more
I have to start this review by saying that I don´t think a song will ever make me feel the same way that "I know you´re hurting" and "Fields" have made me feel.
If RAYE has proven something through her singing career, is she a VOCALIST the way she´s exposed and demonstrated her abilities in this record more than reminds us of that. She has also shown us that she can write with some songs in her debut album, and even in GENESIS, however, she´s ... read more
Yet another album I´m too late to. It´s a good album, not the best thing I´ve heard in my life, but it has some great songs that deserve their flowers. I don´t have much to say about the album; it just makes you feel warm and happy most of the time, it´s a very feel-good album, and Olivia´s tone and voice help contribute to that feeling.
Best song: Close up 95/100
Worst song: A couple minutes 65/100
It's taken me a while to get into Frank Ocean. I always knew his name, but never really listened to any songs (apart from the ones that trend on TikTok), until two days ago, when I heard Novacane, the song that is now my default whenever I open Spotify. I always thought it'd be one of those cases where an artist is extremely overrated because the masses thought he would be great; however, this is not the case. Blond is truly, really, an album that breathes emotion.
It´s very ... read more
A very solid, well-rounded project. The songs follow similar patterns that make them sound slightly repetitive, still, the melodies are very interesting and help make that feeling less aparent. The mix of actual beats with more etheral sounds in the background make it sound fresh, similar to stuff Belén Aguilera or Judeline are doing, and just like the ladder, the Andalusian references are obvious in some stylistic choices.
Best song: CORAZÓN MANDE 90/100
Worst song: ay 60/100
It is clear bad gyal is not an album artist, plus, her other projects before are much better, still, it has a lot of good songs, the singles stand out as well as “fuma” and “Fashion girl pt.2”. It is a fine album that I’m sure I will come back to but only for specific songs, (Like it happened with perdió este culo, mi lova or skit). It was a fine album i could’ve gone without but I’m happy was released.
Best song: Da me 95/100
Worst song: La ... read more
A new sound for Harry, while aperture wasn’t my favourite song, the new ones have a good enough quality to them. Having “disco” in the name is an interesting choice, but alas, it’s a “just fine” record. Coming off of what I think is his best album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally had a very difficult task, be able to compete and impress me with a new and fresh sound that what we’re used to from Harry, and it just slightly did, just enough to ... read more
The album is good; it sounds as if he took the results of his previous work and blended them into one project. 9 songs seem like too little for a solo comeback after 10 years, but I'm sure there is more coming. The project is overall good, but we know he can do so much better than this (24k, unorthodox jukebox, silk sonic....), and I feel a comeback after this long deserved a little bit more love.
The album knows who it is for the most part; most songs feel coherent within the project, ... read more
