I guess I need to explain myself.
I came with high expectations after I've liked Three Cheers for a while and heard that The Black Parade is the magnum opus but the thing I didn't expect at all was how theatrical this thing was. Of course this is a concept album but I haven't stumbled to a theatrical one until today. It simply was too much for me and didn't feel it at all (as theatrecore isn't my cup of tea overall). This definetly has its moments, good riffs and ... read more
The instrumentals are so killer (especially for 1996) but the singer sounds like a ragebaited dog.
Dammit Coldplay dammitt
I could've easily give a little higher score than this but ultimately this was a dissapointment after their magnum opus (for me) Viva La Vida. While some songs are definetly enjoyable and fun (Hurts Like Heaven, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and Major Minus) and I can't help feeling nostalgic with Paradise, this felt very bland compared to previous effort. Potential is there but it's realized with most radio-friendly sound and other solutions.
Conflicted indeed.
As someone who loved RAT WARS, unfortunately the DLC doesn't offer nothing hugely new. On the contrary, this does not take risks or try anything experimental which is very unusual from HEALTH. All non-heavy songs except THOUGHT LEADER felt like filler with no memorable melodies or interesting sounds but being more mainstream friendly. With heavy songs there are some bangers but then again, it's nothing new. Duzsik compared this RAT WARS - DLC pairing to ... read more
It's just mindblowing how these guys stay consistent.
I started getting into Deftones in 2021. I've heard the big hits My Own Summer and Be Quiet And Drive before but the one that sucked me in was Dai The Flu (of all songs!). After White Pony the rest is history and I'm going to my first ever gig abroad next year and probs getting the Pony tattoo after that.
private music answered my expectations. The first single my mind is a mountain was a good one but the next one milk of a ... read more
This was a dissapointment sadly. The first song "Everything" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard that I could cry to it. 10/10 song. After that I hoped that it could've continued to be more ethereal and atmospheric synthwave record but ended up being very basic synthpop with little flavour. It's not bad but the potential was elsewhere. There are little bops like "Wild Ones" but that's it.
Not necessarily bad but borderline boring. Very few highlights here but WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT INTERLUDE LMAO
Back in 2020 this album was huge for me and now listening it in 2024... it's not. I was genuinely surprised. I was ready to give this even a 100 but the magic is gone but not completely. The latter half of the album easily dominates the first (except opener and Too Late are great).
This was a tough one… it’s hard to not to compare this to other stuff these guys did later especially the masterpiece that came after this, Around The Fur. Adrenaline feels so raw and cheap. For it’s time I believe they did something different on the scene, the elements (such as Chino’s vocals) are there but they would be fully realised on ATF. I get why this has its enjoyers. I’m not one of them but I’ll admit that this is kinda unfair to rate this. Its ... read more
No wonder how edgy teenagers were back then when this and Iowa were released in the same year
*insert 9/11 joke here*
wtf this shite actually good
and all memes aside Wonderwall is a 10/10 song
The pinnacle of future funk genre. Flows smoothly and almost every track here is memorable. This installment is cute, vibey, romantic, engaging... it has it all!
