Another album i listened to a while back and still to this day I genuinely believe this was the greatest hip-hop album ever released.
Biggie really took giant steps into pushing hip-hop more than a boom-bap generic album like what was popular at the time, and made sound it vulnerable at some part which was out of the ordinary.
Listened to this a while ago and it still makes me float, Rebecca Suger sure knew what she was doing.
I genuinely think this is her best, and I'd actually say im almost a hater for folk music.
Her vocals are lush and warm, almost like blanket wrapping around your eardrums.
I don’t like getting too personal on websites because it starts to make me uncomfortable after a while, but I feel like this album deserves it.
I don’t really need to introduce this album, because there are endless reviews and videos that can explain the concept ten times better than I ever could. But I do want to talk about why I truly think this is the best form of “sound” I’ve ever experienced.
One thing that is certain is that I’ve never been in a ... read more
This is why I dont rate albums based off of how good the songs are individually.
Frankly I think that one of the worst ways to rate albums because you are simplifying tracks into one song which inst the point- at least for artistic and conceptual albums.
I personally love to listen to the other three before listening to Vigilante because it just throws such a perfect alley-oop to make the song sound even more epic.

Wow, the beat switches and lyrics are definitely one of Eddie's best work to date. It is on the longer end in terms of length for Eddie's usual tracks but its absolutely pays off, Pomni pretty much dying at the end makes me think that she was destined to lose because Eddie knows that she'll be the fan favorite which is kinda disappointing. Ultimately, the beats in contrast with the flow makes this one of Eddie's best works in terms of the rapping technicality and production.
Ass. Straight fucking butt ass shit. Country voice hurts my ears, its like gunna but if he had a country voice and was 10x more cringe. Now the last song wasn't as dogshit as the other surprisingly. He was definitely trying to do something and for that ill have to give brownie points. That song is like maybe a tad bit above mid but everything else brings it down so much. Hard listen. But yeah this was ass dax.
Generic, soulless, basic, Anything you can describe mid this is this album. Now for background music is wanting me to rid my ears out, but its so SOULLESS. The production isnt terrible but once gunna starts to rap he loses me. Now sense 50 is mid for me and everthing else here is mid I would give it a 50 BUT im giving this a 40 because this feels like a generic cash grab with no soul put into it. 50 you would have to at least somewhat try even if it comes out mid but this whole album feels like ... read more
Amazing concept, Amazing production, Amazing everything. Jesus walks is the only skip imo but everything else is damn near perfect. 21 tracks, over an hour, AND a 12 minute song for the ending is fucking diabolical to do and pull off. The soul samples are fresh and creative, features are spectacular. I wish I can say more and somthing intellectual but Kanye just knows music theory the best out of anyone when it comes to hip-hop. The part where he talks about almost dying in a Lexus in ... read more
