An exceptional album. At first I was only fond of the 1st half of this album and I hated the tracks following Drew Barrymore and would not listen to it at all. A masterpiece from the G.O.A.T, Mr. Kenny. The jazzy-instrumentals, the hard-hitting beats, the more sentimental songs, every song manages to capture a certain emotion that really is impressive FR. The opening track really just wow… Then from then on, the tracks just keep on getting better. One of the best rap albums released in 2021. Little Simz just keeps on getting better! I thought Grey Area was a really outstanding album and this drops and I’m like “She really managed to top Grey Area??”. This is the most cohesive body of work and I love it SO SO SO MUCH. I might as well become a full time Little Simz stan. 😭
I LOVE this album SM! It shows her maturity from songwriting, ideas and concept. The vintage 50’s-like teaser photos are so stunning as well and it fits the album fairly well. This album is a mix of a bunch of genres: RnB, Trip-Hop, Punk-Pop, Electropop, and a hint of Jazz. I especially love the track Billie Bossa Nova because it just makes you wanna move.
