This was an incredible music journey. Embracing the longform nature of the youtube album made it feel like listening to radio or working through a stack of 7" singles. This project is cohesive in its sound, yet expansive enough to give you flavors of Peter Paul and Mary, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Beatles, Nick Shoulders, the Ronnettes and many more.

great full-length project from the art-rockers. sonically, this album is so appealing: fantastic, tasteful textures with great instrumentation and arrangement as well as skilled performance from each member.
the lyrics on the LP are as equally repelling as the instrumentals are inviting. the band did a great job balancing this tension. this album is convicting--it's a bit too emotionally weighty (for me) to return to often, but it's a killer listen each time.
At $1.99 on iTunes this single/EP is a steal. Great show of musicianship all around.
This is currently my favorite gy!be LP. The most hopeful sounding one I've come across yet and the musicianship was on another level for this project--especially the drums.
After being put onto black midi, I started discovering other bands from the Windmill scene. Squid rocks. After watching their Live at Home with KEXP I wanted to be their friends.
This LP is a phenomenal debut and so well executed. I find that many bands create albums which aim to create a common backdrop, or world, in which all of the songs take place, but I'm hard-pressed to find a record that pulls this off as well as Squid does on Bright Green Field.
