Classic M&B, missed these guys together. So pumped for the full album
Eh it was alright, The Troubles is easily the best song. It wasn't forgettable, but it also wasn't an album that I have a strong desire to relisten to.
wow i can't believe someone uploaded this to AOTY, it feels like a lost relic since it was deleted off soundcloud like 5 years ago. I happened to screen record the songs because I had a feeling he would delete them, so I still listen to Rich Man and Sheeeesh sometimes, pretty good songs. Morning is now Every Morning by Patrick Cc. on Spotify, that's also a great song.
ugh. only parts i relisten to are phony for the Juicy J half of the hook and verse, and UP sometimes for the chorus. i don't like this album. why are we bringing rich the kid back.
A very impressive show of writing and rapping. Production was solid, but can get a little boring at times. I think my issue with J Cole is that his writing is very introspective and fascinating for a listen or two, but nothing about his music really makes me want to come back that frequently. That's probably not J. Cole's fault, I just might be dumb. Anyways, this album is about the length of Despicable Me 2. Love that movie.
Not my favorite aries performance, underscores were pretty good. I think it was just a little underwhelming.
edit - it's grown on me a bit
edit - it grew on me again
Didn't know this was a cover until I came to rate it on this website, and I was gonna give it a decent rating and say that it was shockingly well-written for a Morgan Wallen song. But, I can't really give him credit for the lyrics in a cover. Still a relatively pleasant listen, just doesn't add much to the original I don't think.
I've listened to this album like 10 times and keep forgetting to review. Easily the best writing I've heard on a Bloc Party album, I love the concepts covered. It feels very intelligent without being pretentious. I love Song for Clay so much that I read the book it's based on (Less Than Zero). Hunting for Witches feels extraordinarily relevant today, almost 20 years later. Great conscious rock album, my only gripes are that a couple songs don't absolutely enthrall me like ... read more
The sound of this album is fantastic, Julia's vocals blend beautifully with the instrumentation. The only thing that really holds this album back are the lyrics, which can be a little juvenile at times. I don't expect greatness by any means, but talking about being in the notes app on your phone and leaving bad yelp reviews as focal points of choruses on here just sort of feel silly sometimes.
Overall still a good album
My Joe Drake was so boring. Why is he SO BORING??!! The Julia Wolf intro was cool, and the Yeat outro was really good, but Drake took up like 75% of the song to say a whole bunch of nonsense with absolutely no confidence. Every time he says “ayy” it sounds so stupid, I swear he’s not even writing anymore, he just does 1 take and calls it good. At least Yeat has some energy and variety in his voice. Drake has just given up trying to do anything interesting, who even cares ... read more
Honestly I made it through like 5 songs and got so bored I had to turn it off
Here's a clever little reference to his acclaimed 2019 album entitled "Welcome Home". Welcome home Aries. Anyone get it?
This album made me think of many things while I was listening to it, and also brought a smile to my face, and also brought a frown to my face, and also made me think really, really hard sometimes. They don't call him the Michelangelo of thinking of words for nothing.
absolutely legendary. these two are so funny and enjoyable to listen to, i miss this duo dearly. they've been teasting M&B 2 which i really hope actually happens
