A$AP Rocky Discography Reviews (4/4)
Until Don't Be Dumb comes out, the last album in his current discography is this LP Testing. This album has a lot going on, some good some not. I would like to give my flowers to Rocky for this, as while I think it is by far his weakest project up to date, I think he experimented a lot more than usual and I do appreciate that. Something like a vulnerable Purity with Frank Ocean, or a Changes really feel very new and welcome to me.
I think the biggest problem on this album was Rocky's quality control. This album has a lot of bloat / filler. Tracks like Brotha Man, OG Beeper, which in my opinion is possibly his worst song in his 3 album run, as well as the somber CALLDROPS are just not up to par with the rest of the tracklist. Otherwise, the project is sufficient enough, the production is fine, and lyrically Rocky is giving what he usually does, and plus that for the two tracks I mentioned previously.
